You've exhausted your writer-self producing a vibrant first draft—and now you know it needs some work. What's the best way to approach the mammoth task of editing, and how do you learn to turn your writer brain off, and your reader brain on? 

Join writer and editor Heather Parry for a warm and informative workshop on how to make sure your writing is the best it can be—before it goes out to agents, editors or readers. We'll cover the progression from the drafting stage all the way through developmental editing, line editing and proofreading, to leave you with a piece of fiction or nonfiction that's ready to represent you at your very best.

About the tutor:
Heather Parry is a Glasgow-based writer and editor. Her debut novel, Orpheus Builds a Girl, was shortlisted for the Saltire Society Fiction Book of the Year Award and longlisted for the Polari First Book Prize. Her first nonfiction book, Electric Dreams: On Sex Robots and the Failed Promises of Capitalism, was longlisted for the Bread and Roses Award for Radical Publishing, and in 2025 The Skinny named her as one of the 'Next Generation of Scottish Writers'. She is the commissioning editor of the literary magazine Extra Teeth, and writes the Substack general observations on eggs. 

Heather has worked as an editor for close to twenty years.
