About the illustrator

Karin Eremia is a conceptual illustrator and printmaker originally from Romania. She left her home country 13 years ago and has since lived in Finland, Scotland and now Greece. She graduated with an MA in Illustration from The Edinburgh College of Art, and afterwards worked as a Studio Assistant at the printmaking workshop of ECA in 2019-2020.

Subjects concerning human interaction and social issues are of main interest in her illustration practice. These, along with her experiences of having lived in different places, are reflected in her daily image-making, with references to the power of protest, literary and historical sources, anti-racist conversations, and the climate crisis. Many of her drawings take the shape of observational pieces - often adding a humorous touch to how she sees people.
